A weekend so awesome, my Monday is Wednesday. A weekend so boss, it ended with Carvel ice cream.

So…. I have recently been saying, “Oh, no… Fort Island Beach, it’s full of birds(and bird shi-beep!), you don’t want to go there.” And then Doug posts this video with Hannah at Fort Island Beach. …I win! Here is the official “I win” email I received from Brian, “I’ll admit. When you were saying Fort Island was just filled with bird poop, I thought you were exaggerating. But watch this video Doug posted…”

This is really cool. I played for hours yesterday. I did surprisingly bad on the art section. I rocked at the vocab section. And did surprisingly fair at the French section. I avoided the math all together.

FreeRice.

Doesn't this just make you want to go on Oprah and jump on a couch?

Well the computer interface at least…

I saw this over at the Singularity Hub. It looks awesome, but I don’t know if it’s practical.

No matter how cool something looks, it won’t take off unless it provides some benefit. What benefits does this have over the normal mouse/keyboard configuration? Most of what I saw was just the multi-screens. Very cool, but we have that now. It will be interesting to watch computers interfaces change.

What do you think? Is this useful other than for looking cool?

Ok, first let me say, ” I am not good at Mario Cart.” Second let me say, ” I love playing Mario Cart.” Tonight, Brian Cory and I sat down for our nightly game of Mario Cart (I’m always Daisy, in case you were curious- I’m sure you were.). As always, I was losing -big time. After round three, Cory says, “You guys wanna join a tournament? It’s on the Mario channel.” Well, we did. And we did. And I did keep losing (Cory and Brian improved markedly with each try.). As much as I lost, you’d think I would “stop having fun” and find a new way to pass the time. No. I kept playing. Long after Brian went to bed. I kept playing. Long after Cory ran out of “video game time”. I kept playing, and playing, and playing and still never came close to the top score in the house, which, by the way, isn’t yet close enough to beat the “World Top Score.” All I can say is, “Thank goodness, I can try again tomorrow.”
