It’s not very good. However, it was fun to make and a good learning experience.

Today, in the spirit of Earth Day, we did our part by reducing the piles of leaves in the yard into two big compost piles. We reduced our potential wasting of more strawberries, by making more muffins. Awesome! Oh yeah, and our muffin papers are eco friendly types. We took our recycles to the recycle center. After which we stopped by a thrift store. I was on the lookout for a glass pitcher for making iced tea, and wouldn’t you know…I found just the thing. It’s a carafe, I think originally it’s purpose was for orange juice, but for me it’s perfect for small batches of iced tea. After all, I’m the only one who drinks it around here. Bonus thrift store find….low heal tap shoes that fit me! WooHoo! You can’t beat that. I put those suckers on and tapped and tapped and tapped. I really want to wear them everywhere I go…..that would be so awesome.

What are you going to do to celebrate? Get outside? That’s what I plan to do. Perhaps you’re stuck at work and can’t swing it until later in the day. While you’re stuck indoors anyway, might make the best of it and sign some petitions online. Change.Org is a good place to start. PBS has some great videos about the earth and Earth Day. Of course there’s always GreenPeace online. They’ve got great videos and activities you can do to help save the earth. Don’t forget to become a fan (or a like-er) on Facebook.

Have an awesome tree-hugging earth-loving day!

I think this has to be the most wonderful spring. The weather has been beyond glorious. (yes, I said glorious.) Flowers everywhere. Warm days, cool nights. Window opened. Birds chirping and singing like crazy every morning. Indecent squirrels doing their dance. Signs of life everywhere. I am enjoying every minute of it. I’d better get Brian outside with the Frisbee while it lasts. (But will that duck ever hatch those eggs? I’m just dying to know!)

What a treat we happen to have right in our back yard. Mulberry tree’s. Three to be specific. And unless the squirrels and birds beat us to them, they’re in abundance this year. I can’t wait to have more.

I would learn to play him on my violin. Ha ha! I had a violin lesson with Dianna- the awesomest! Well, one of the songs I’m going to be working on learning is Drunkin’ Sailor. I am so excited.

In other lesson related news. The boys are making strides- leaps and bounds really, as dancers for our local theater’s version of The King and I. They had their second practice today and in just a week they’re quite improved. I can’t wait to see what happens come show time. I think it’s going to be…you know…awesome.

Now I have to go catch up on Dancing With the Stars. It takes my mind off the fact that the boys have to go to the dentist tomorrow. Ugh! UGH! ugh.

Just some stuff that I've read recently and found interesting…

One down one more to go, and all I have to say is…..”I’m really glad I’m done cleaning the bathroom.” It’s my least favorite house keeping duty. But it’s cleaner than it’s been in months and that’s a good thing.

Now for bathroom number two, no pun intended.
