It has come to my attention, that sometimes I take things too seriously. Aside from raising my children-a very serious business- which I will not apologize for (yes Cory you’re getting braces!) – I also take the theater, that is- my involvement in the theater, too seriously. Who knew! Well, I do not like taking things too serious. I think perhaps it’s not good for the cholesterol levels or perhaps it affects the nerve endings badly, but either way- I don’t like serious. Unless of course it matters, then of course I take serious totally serious and seriously I am so serious about being serious. All that seriousness aside- I do want to have a happy enjoy-it sort of life. The only real way to do that, is to actually do that. So, in the interest of doing that, I’m going to do that. And therefore on this the eighteenth of June in the year two thousand and ten. I, Jessica Watson, being of sound-ish mind and body do here-by solemnly swear to never complain or not-enjoy participating in the theater or arts seemingly theatrical, ever ever again. As blog as my witness…. : ) Well, at least I”m gonna try…….
Tonight I had the urge to go old-school and watch the movie Ghost. (I love Whoopi Goldberg. )
It’s really not that bad of a movie- even after all these years. Although the best parts have been spoofed so much it’s hard not to laugh when you see them.
Wow! We Wats-conians sure did have one heck of a business trip! All fun, no business. (Miss you Mom and Merv!) Now it’s back to the “grindstone” for us. More prop making and set painting for me. Meetings meetings meetings for Mr. Watson. And dancin’ dancin’ dancin’ for the boy-iels. It’s not a bad grindstone to get back to really.
I’m working on more props for the King and I. Hats for the royal wives and the sun for the Small House of Uncle Thomas. What goes better with making the sun? A She and Him song/video with hula hoops! I heart hula hoops!!!!
One bird- flu. We cure it with super spicy salsa. Aye! Clearing all sinuses and what-nots.
Two bird- ducklings. We found a new, and hopefully happy home for four more of the ducklings. So now, we have four ducks (or two ducks and two ducklings); Despair (the mean and horrible father) Dog (the mother) Thief (the dark feathered one- like a cat burglar, only a duck) and Crackerjack (the um other duck, that doesn’t make me think of anything clever to say about it, right away…)
We’ve flu’d through three Wats-Co team members. One of us, I won’t mention any names (Mr. Watson) decided to not get sick on schedule (Mr. Watson) and is making his impending illness loom above us like a dark cloud (Mr. Watson!) while we pack and get ready to head out of town (Mr. Watson) potentially forcing me to drive the whole way (MR. WATSON!) to Arizona. MR. WATSON!!!!!!!!
Here’s hoping Mr. Watson stays healthy and well. Oh! and that we don’t look profilable. wink wink. Arizona…….so many jokes- so little time. Remember when Florida was the butt- hanging chads and all that funny jazz- of every joke. Arizona makes Florida look….ick. Well not much better actually. Got tar balls? Coming soon to a beach near you. Enough of that.
Mr. Watson stay well. Ducklings- have a wonderful life.
Side note, I’m feeling a little better. But I still have waves of unwellness wash over me and I have to sit down and take it easy for a few. You know how the flu do.
Other side note. We found a new loving home for four of the ducklings. Now we just need a home for four more. Any takers?
