Our friend Dianna (the painter) got another year older. And we helped celebrate by making her some bread. Weird right? But we did it anyway. Bread is yum!

I am #1 fan of my three people around, obviously. But today I am giving a shout out to Brian “I’ll Try Out For That” Watson. We went and tried out for the Art Center’s Witness for the Prosecusion. I could hear him through the door……I may be biased……I may be overly influenced by my general love for him……but, I think he sounded good in there. I didn’t have an anxiety attack so in a sense, I did my personal best. Ha ha! Now back to Brian……He’s Awesome! I’m looking forward to ushering for the show so I can watch him awesome it up.

What did we do? Nothing. I mean nothing really. We tooled around the house. We went to a store or two, some stores we went to two times. But all in all, we didn’t do anything. Let’s see, Friday night Brian’s sister visited for an over night-er. That was lovely. We watched a movie. Saturday morning I made tasty breakfast with the bagels Brian’s sister brought. That was lovely. Saturday after breakfast Brian and Leslie extended their brains and played math. I did not. Cory and Danny thought they were arguing, so they did not ask to play math. They were not- arguing. Playing math just “sounds” really intense. Brian continued to play math long after Leslie left. (Please do not ask me to explain what it means to play math, if you don’t know- you wouldn’t get it.) I did some light sewing. Some light cooking. Violin practicing. The boys did some computer gaming. Piano practicing. Kitten training. Picture drawing. Sunday was even worse, we bought dish soap and a newspaper. We read the newspaper and folded laundry. YEAH! We ate leftovers. We had many laughs. We didn’t clean the house. Some of us didn’t even get out of our pajamas (Danny.). We don’t always look good on paper and THAT is awesome!

Not around here! Our niece Robyn spent the night, which made wiggle room for the boys to have the day off from school work. This of course freed me up to do other projects- not to mention that Robyn loves getting crafty- so we did! She taught me how to finger weave. So we made skinny scarves while watching episodes of Hannah Montana Forever and Looney Toons. (Mine was green and hers was multi-blue confetti.) After that we painted happy hopeful words and images on the bunting for the yard. Meanwhile, Danny made new foam swords and a duct tape cardboard weapon holder. Cory, read and played on the computer. Most excellently, my Everyday Food magazine came in the mail and I tried a new recipe. Whole wheat brownies. YUM! Seriously. I didn’t tell anyone (except Brian) that they were whole wheat. Or that they had lower sugar, that is they were made with brown sugar and applesauce. They were a hit. I assisted Robyn in her first tote sewing experience. Woohoo! Hopefully the first of many. And we finished the day with totally delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. (I did one experimental sand.- Feta cheese, tomato and capers. I liked the tom.+feta, gonna skip the capers next time.) Oh man. I don’t really see how tomorrow can live up to today……Nah! I’m just kidding. Life just keeps getting better.

Is there anything better in the world than pizza? Okay, maybe ….sushi….wine….chocolate. NO! I mean, wine is never good for breakfast (they tell me!) and sushi, well… Well, I’m told not everyone likes sushi. What is up with not everyone. Jeez. Moving on to chocolate. Chocolate..pizza…chocolate…pizza….I guess it just depends on the day. (Say, “you are not a fan of chocolate or pizza” and we might say, “please don’t visit our blog again.” For awesome’s sakes! There is only so much a man can take.) Okay, all kidding aside. I made my first attempt at deep dish pizza. Pizza dough (from scratch) from Everyday Food’s recipe. Sauce from tomato paste and sauce and spices and herbs on hand + sugar + salt. Mozzarella cheese grated by Brian (thank you Brian). Toppings for adults, peppers- yellow and orange and Greek peppercoccini, garlic, tomato and pepperoni for Mr. Watson. For a first try it was pretty awesome good. I can’t say much more than that. Pizza, it’s like sex! Even when it’s bad it’s good. So when it’s good, it’s really good!
