Sunday ends our run of Witness for the Prosecution. It has been the most fun. With helping create the set and acting with some really nice people we are sad to see it end. We’ll finish after the show with a cast party, I’ll be bringing some pumpkin spice cupcakes- they are baking as I type and they smell delish! I can’t wait to not eat them (my diet is going great and I’m not going to spoil it.)
It’s amazing how life keeps getting more amazing.
Because first of all, we didn’t win the lottery. and B…. I forget what B is. Oh my. After a few long-ish days at the Art Center painting set and cutting foam I am pooped. Well, not really but, it’s nice to pretend. Oh right B… Netflix finally fixed Flowers in the Attic so it played all the way through, not just the first six minutes. (long story) Right. So after a few long days of arts and crafts I come home to relax with Mister Watson and we decide the best way to chill is by eating popcorn for dinner and watching the ever so creepy- from my middleschool/high school- hood- creepy, and wicked good movie, Flowers in the Attic. (yes, the books were better). Well, it was as good (and bad) as I remember. I am so glad Netflix finally fixed that glitch. Now off to bed for another day at the Art Center tomorrow.
Thursday night is our final dress rehearsal. Friday is opening night……What!!!! So exciting!!!!
Come see Witness for the Prosecution. Brian is going to be awesome. I’m going to try not to suck.
1. Getting up early and not killing people over it.
2. Missing hiking after two days off. (due to scheduling issues not laziness)
3. Knowing your heart breaks for your children.
4. Knowing the human body is strong and the spirit is stronger- you can overcome anything!
5. Finding patience you didn’t know you had.
6. Finding a book you didn’t know you wanted, at the library.
7. Taking a moment to try and take a nap- even if you can’t fall asleep.
8. Remembering Christmas is coming up soon, and then realizing you need to finish your Halloween mask and laughing.
9. Seeing the lit up face of the recipient of a Lego magazine in the mail.
10. Looking forward to the up coming trip to Ikea and Crate and Barrel. (yeah!!!!!)

Bleh! The big computer has fallen ill. Woe is the big computer. More importantly, Woe is the Brian who had to come home from rehearsal just to start playing doctor on the computer. I am glad now, more than ever that we got the iPad.
(because I know you have) ‘you ever have one of those days, where every thing is just off by a hair and it gets to you. You know, it’s nothing you can put your finger on, but it’s 8 o’clock at night and you’re just getting everyone to get to their piano practice and Spanish work. You woke up late. You got dinner on the table fifteen minutes after some one had to be out the door. Where every innocent discussion ends up in a heated debate. Where, what would pass as everyday snarky humor, becomes the Achille’s heal you never knew you had. …I’m not saying today was one of those days…… BUT I’M NOT SAYING IT WASN’T!
Well, we did finish up the sort-of-sucky-though-for-no-particular-reason-day by watching a superhero show, which at least got us all talking nice to each other again. Thank blog for t.v.? I guess.

Remember a while back I told you about winning the Clare Rojas give-away from over at My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses? Well it came in the mail and the journal is lovely as are the notecards. What a nice thing to get in the mail.
Now Brian and I have been rehearsing for Witness for the Prosecution. The boys have started their youth drama class and will have auditions for the Christmas Carol next week- wish them luck. But this does not mean I don’t have time for other things. We’re still hiking everyday -and damn it! if I haven’t gained 3 more pounds. Exercise fail! But we keep on keepin’ on. I finished my painting project, but making the video might have to wait a while as sometimes tech-ing doesn’t come naturally to me. I’ve started some knitting for the upcoming x-mas times. And Danny requested that I make him a Jango Fett mask/helmet. You know Jango Fett from Star Wars- it’s is only in the very beginning stages. If I have enough time I’ll make myself a mask for Halloween as well- we’ll see. Danny in the meantime has been using polymer clay to make heads for his lego guys. They’re friggin’ adorable. Cory and Danny are both plugging away at learning the piano- you have no idea how nice it is to hear live piano music every day.
Life is still awesome.
Did you know yesterday was International Taco Day? We did. And we celebrated old school style with tacos like your mama used to make- ground beef (and meat substitute for me) with a packet of McCormick taco seasoning. Cheese, tomato and lettuce. Hard corn taco shells warmed in the oven. A dollop of sour cream. As it turns out, this was a first time for Cory and Danny. Danny liked it, and Cory ate it without gagging. Ha ha ha. Next year I think we’ll celebrate with more flair. Fish tacos and mojitos or something like that.
In other news. Our big giant 7.5 mile hike we did on Sunday left poor Brian with a big blister on his heal. After our 2.3 miles today he showed it off to us, just letting us know he walked hard and helped us shave five minutes off our time in spite of this horrible affliction. We want to openly give him kudos for “nutting up”. You’re awesome Brian!
Fa la la la laaaa la la la la.
I love Florida fall. The weather becomes so wonderful, you just have to go outside. we’ve gone for a hike every day this week. Even today- and that was pushing it because we were at a Pokemon tournament all day.
Tomorrow we’re going to do a nice long trail- not a bad way to spend low tech Sunday, our new tradition going strong for four weeks. Tomorrow will be week five.
Florida fall is Awesome!
We museum’d it up today, boy did we! What a fun day. First we started with greasy spoon type breakfast. Then…Three museums; The Morean, The Dali, and The Museum of Fine Arts. Plus a nice Italian Linner (that’s lunch and dinner). Finished with a walk to the park and Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake. That’s an awesome day. Happy Birthday Denise.
